ABET Accreditation Heading link

The undergraduate programs in electrical engineering and computer engineering at UIC have been accredited since 2001 by ABET, the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, and its predecessor organizations. The department is in the process of applying for ABET accreditation for the engineering physics program, in line with a national trend of engineering schools beginning to seek ABET status for such programs.

ABET is the recognized accreditor for college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. It is a federation of 28 professional and technical societies representing these fields. Among the most respected accreditation organizations in the United States, ABET has provided leadership and quality assurance in higher education for more than 75 years.
