Advanced Engineering Research

Presenter: Kristyn Caragher, UIC

Abstract: In this session, learn the differences between engineering resources, such as IEEE, an engineering research database, and Web of Science, the largest citation database in science, engineering, medicine, and technology, with a focus on conducting literature reviews. Students will practice developing a complex search strategy and applying it to the engineering databases. The session will also touch on accessing standards, open-access publishing, and Refworks. Please come to class with a research question or topic prepared ahead of time and a laptop so you can participate.
