Presenter: Claudia Vasanelli, Texas Instruments
Abstract: Millimeter-wave radars are widely employed as sensing elements in a number of automotive, industrial and commercial applications. This seminar will give an overview of mm-wave radar fundamentals, state-of-the-art developments and future research trends. A special focus will be given to Texas Instruments' packaging innovations, such as Launch-on-Package and Antenna-on-Package solutions. The presentation will show the tight link between system requirements and packaging solutions in modern mm-wave radar development.
Speaker bio: Claudia Vasanelli has a BS in information technology engineering, and an MS in telecommunication engineering from University of Salento, Lecce, Italy. She received her PhD in 2019 from Ulm University, Ulm, Germany. From 2019 to 2021 she worked as antenna engineer for Huawei Technologies in the Munich Research Center, Germany. She joined TI in 2022, where she was part of Kilby Labs, TI's research laboratory, as antenna and electromagnetic engineer working on RF/mmW activities. In 2025 she joined TI's radar team, where she is currently part of the Electromagnetics/Packaging R&D group.
